'This table' is the license the editor attaches to the derived table. Tables built from CC BY-NC-SA sources (DCML, Sapp, ASAP) carry that condition forward as CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. Rows from the DCML chorales (CC0) sit in the same file as NC-SA rows (score_metrics_by_movement.csv), so the file is marked NC-SA, but the editor attaches no condition to those 361 rows used on their own. The NY Phil and Wikidata sources are CC0; bmetr is MIT (copies of its code or data must keep the copyright and permission notice). These tables are not copies of the sources but numbers the editor computed or reviewed (including the composer classification and Wikidata matching tables under aliases/), and CC BY 4.0 applies to that part. When using tables derived from bmetr, please also credit its authors (Martín-Castro & Ucar 2020). Tables under imslp/ are derived from IMSLP work pages (CC BY-SA 4.0) and carry that license forward; please do not merge them into files with differently licensed tables. Tables under ellis/ are the editor's transcription of a public-domain source (Ellis 1885/1895), CC BY 4.0. No original scores, MIDI or audio are redistributed here.

A machine-readable list of each file's license, sources and source licenses: datapackage.json (Frictionless Data Package). Please keep it with any CSV you redistribute.

Columns: Beethoven symphony recordings

In beethoven_symphony_recordings.csv (and the coda_tempo and duration_ratio tables that carry it), date is the recording period, as written in the source (bmetr): a single year ('1995') or a range ('1977-1979', '1972- 1975'). year is not the recording year but the release year of the album set (bmetr documentation: release date). The source's year column contains the values 2911 and 2912, which cannot be release years, unchanged. Wherever this site needs the time of recording it uses date: recording_year_start is the first year in date, and rec_year_first, rec_year_last and rec_year_mid in the tempo-trend table (beethoven_symphony_conductor_year.csv) are its first, last and middle years.
