Separates what is new here from what was already measured: the genre-composition trend (Kwak 2026), the 1,258-person dataset (Choi 2021), the 291 untranslated collections (Choi 2020) and the XML defects (Choi et al. 2021) existed before and sit next to this site's recount. Only figures read from the original publications are included.
Kwak Ji-eun (2026) split the collections of the Hanguk munjip chonggan and the Hanguk yeokdae munjip chongseo into seven genre units and measured their shares over time: poetry always largest but declining until a 20th-century rebound, letters rising steadily, court documents falling sharply in the late 19th century, elegies, prefaces and biographies steady; the paper also reports a lag of about a century between an author's active years and the printing of the collection (from the abstract; figures to be added after reading the full text).
