Separates what is new here from what was already measured. Articles per reign (Bak & Oh), Joseon eclipse records (Ahn & Lee), early-Joseon historians' comments (Cha) and Sillok criminal cases (Yu) existed before; they sit next to this site's recount, and disagreements are shown rather than resolved.
Figures that earlier studies already produced are shown next to this site's recount. Only values read from the original publications are included.
Bak & Oh (2015), articles per reign counted from the NIKH website (p. 11, Table 1): the table sums to 347,926 for Taejo–Cheoljong and 380,723 for all 27 reigns. The corpus total stated in the text, 380,271 ('1392–1863'), differs from the table sum by 452, an inconsistency within the paper (up to 1.2.3 this site wrongly labeled that figure 'with Gojong and Sunjong').

NIKH edition notes: the Revised Seonjo records are 'one fifth of the original', the Revised Gyeongjong records 'one third', and the final draft of the Daily Records of Gwanghaegun 'reduced by about a third' from the second draft.

Ahn & Lee (2004), Table 1: of 261 Joseon eclipse records (231 in the Sillok, 30 in other sources) 11 are mis-dated and 60 were not visible from Korea (16 below the horizon); 38 visible eclipses went unrecorded.
