Gaps — missing days, empty cells, note-only cells

By reign and year: calendar days without a day node, day nodes whose cell is empty or '-', and nodes whose cell holds only a copyist's note (燼餘, 謄書) instead of weather (empty and note-only are node counts — they include undated nodes and second nodes of one date).

Key point

Of 104,963 calendar days, 2,275 have no day node; 2,256 day nodes have an empty weather cell (2,185 distinct dated days); 1,317 duplicate nodes (two nodes on one date) and 69 undated nodes are counted separately. Missing days cluster in the Sukjong, Injo, Hyeonjong and Heonjong years; zeros there are gaps, not quiet days.

Formula: Calendar days = JDN span from the reign's first to last day + 1. Missing days = calendar days − distinct dates. Duplicate nodes (two or more on one date) and undated nodes are counted separately. Empty and note-only come from the token rule's kind column.
How to read it: Missing days cluster in Sukjong (757), Injo (519), Hyeonjong (213) and Heonjong (206); duplicate nodes cluster in Yeongjo (895), where the same day appears in two volumes. Treat those zeros as missing in any time series.
Caveats: Version 1.2 counted 'calendar days − nodes', so duplicate nodes offset missing days and Yeongjo and Gojong came out negative (889 in all); 1.2.1 counts distinct dates (2,275). Days without a node differ from periods without a volume (before 1623, lost volumes); only the former are counted.
