Record and sky — three sourcesarticles
Chronology of naked-eye sunspot articles
Counts of '黑子 / 日中有黑 / 日有黑氣' articles by source and 50-year period.
170articles · Goryeosa, Jeolyo, Sillok, Ilgi
Key point
Naked-eye sunspot articles total 170 across the four sources (Goryeosa 32, Jeolyo 18, Sillok 50, Ilgi 70), at most a few dozen per 50-year period, so they are given as a chronology only. No correlation with solar-activity proxies is offered: at these counts it cannot be separated from recording practice.
- Formula
- Keyword counts (pre-registered pattern sunspot); no type coding. From 1.2.1 the Sillok is counted with the same pattern (keyword_hits_sillok_ext; Taejo–Cheoljong). Two undated Sillok articles (Injo) are in the article list (170) but not in the 50-year table, whose columns sum to 168.
- How to read it
- Counts are small, so only the distribution is shown: Goryeosa 32, Jeolyo 18, Sillok 50, Ilgi 70.
- Caveats
- Aurora candidates (赤氣, 白氣, 火光) are not a metric; their counts sit in a footnote — they cannot be separated from clouds and twilight.
